Tuina uses the same theory as Acupuncture, but uses manual techniques rather than needles to effect change and is usually undertaken with clothes on.
Tuina practitioners are skilled at both manipulating joints and muscles to relieve musculoskeletal pain and stiffness (like arthritis and sciatica) and directing the flow of Qi within the body to help with conditions like insomnia.
Depending on the style of Tuina, the treatment can vary from a vigorous deep-style massage to subtle energetic treatments. These techniques are often used together with exercise and helpful advice, designed to relieve pain, reduce stress and aid you in your recovery.
